As the largest employer in Boone, Appalachian State University brings a youthful and unique vibe to the colorful mountain town. Boone is also home to Samaritan’s Purse, ECRS Point of Sale Software Company, and Wine to Water, an international non-profit with a mission to bring water and dignity to communities around the world.

    Boone offers a host of tasty restaurants – everything from an affordable yet hip pub-food scene to homemade southern delicacies served on the porch of a historic old home.  There is something for the vegan, and some for the barbecue lover. A local favorite is a soulful tex-mex-esque joint in a strip mall – Coyote Kitchen is a hot spot for those who know the area.
