The Best Darn Farmer’s Markets in N.C (in our humble opinion):
Watauga County Farmer’s Market – Strolling through a collection of artisan soap makers, heirloom tomatoes, exquisite mushrooms, homemade goat cheeses (baby goat sighting possible, free goat cheese sample likely)… sipping a hot cup of sustainably sourced locally roasted coffee, munching on homemade Breakfast Pizza (complete with bacon, eggs, and with or without syrup!). It’s a Saturday morning in May, and this is one of the many reasons I am completely and utterly in love with Boone, North Carolina. Seriously y’all, this farmer’s market is what my dreams are made of. It’s my must visit if you happen to be in town on a Saturday morning. The market runs from May to October on Saturdays beginning at 8:00 am.
Ashe County Farmer’s Market – Homemade bread, fresh cut flowers, and local artisan goods are just a few of the many treasures you’ll find at the Ashe County Farmer’s Market. Ashe County is just a short drive away from Boone and offers a fresh taste of the High Country. This downtown West Jefferson market is open on Saturdays from April to October, from 8:00 am – 1:00 pm.
Blowing Rock Weekday Farmer’s Market – Walk down the streets of downtown Blowing Rock on a summer Thursday evening and find a fresh market offering local produce and goods. Kicking off on May 24 and running on Thursdays from 4- 6pm.
