    Artisan Summer MarketAugust 3 (5-8 pm) – August 4 (11-5 pm) – Crafts! Local art! Fun and unique items! Cool Boone stuff here, people.     First Friday Art CrawlAugust 3 (6-8:30 pm) – I fell in love with Boone at a Friday night art crawl! A really fun, chill way to spend a Friday evening in the mountains… “Shop, mingle and meet local artists from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at downtown shops and galleries. Enjoy fresh art, lively street performers, and complimentary refreshments. Stay late for music, food, and drinks at one of our many fine restaurants.”

    Yonder Mountain String Band at Beech Mountain – August 11 (6:30 – 11:30 pm) – A true treat! This timeless classic hits one of the coolest venues in Western NC. Complete with several food truck dining options and beer from local breweries. Bring a blanket or a chair and enjoy this special outdoor show.

    Adam David Galleher Memorial Fundraiser – August 11 (5pm – 9pm) – The Apple Barn in Banner Elk. Shebly Rae Moore, delicious catering byBig D’s Yard Bird AND Gadabouts Catering, silent auction, and beer from AMB! This event contributes to the Adam David Galleher Memorial Fund, granting thousands of dollars to improve the experience and access of High Country kids.     High Country Beer Fest – August 25 (3 pm – 7 pm) at the High Country Fairgrounds. From their website: “Join us for the 11th annual High Country Beer Fest at the High Country Fairgrounds. Sample craft beers, craft food, music, and seminars in the high country of North Carolina. Our seminars will cover aspects of beer tasting, brewing, and food pairing.”
