I was born in Louisville, Kentucky and was mostly raised in Southern Indiana. Over 35 years ago I moved to Dallas, TX where I built my career in IT and met my future wife, Jane. We both enjoy the mountains and the outdoors in general. In particular, we love hiking, kayaking, watching wildlife, and relaxing with good friends and a good bottle of wine at Summer concerts in the park. So we moved to the High Country of North Carolina in 2017 and haven’t looked back.
The last 13 years of my previous career were at Microsoft where I refined my strong skill set in research, data organization, analysis, problem-solving and basically boiling massive amounts of information down to the key essentials that people really need for practical applications. While I love what technology can do for people, I am not a geek’s geek. To me, it is all about what practical use it has.
That is something that I bring to the real estate business. My goal is to do most of the research, preparation, and legwork for you so that you can focus on making the best home-buying choice you can based on what is most important to you.
One of my specialties is previewing potential homes on your behalf, providing you with detailed reports of my observations, plus photos and videos that aren’t always available on the listings. My team and I collectively have a lot of knowledge about communities and other aspects unique to buying and living in in the High Country. So if you are conducting a home search from out of town, letting me be your local eyes and ears can help you save a ton of time and effort by eliminating homes from your list of candidates that look good online but not so good in person.
I believe in value-for-value relationships - I expect to work hard to earn your trust and your business, but I expect my clients to be my partners and cooperate in the process.
I try to be transparent and straightforward – I will be up-front with you about every aspect of our relationship and the processes involved. I will tell you the truth, even if at first you don’t want to hear it. Similarly, I expect my clients to be open and honest with me.
My primary and only goal is to help you find the right place for you at the right price. I don’t worry as much about commissions as some agents do – I try to take care of my clients and let the money take care of itself.
